Barcelona GU15 Blue Head Coach Mark Fielder, a native of San Diego, was a multi-sport athlete. As a youth, he spent his summers in Mexico playing soccer and eventually went on to a successful High School career where he lettered fours years and was also named as a two-time All-League Basketball player. After a series of injuries, he was forced to the sideline after several collegiate offers and tryouts.

Putting his athletic endeavors and aspirations aside, Mark went on the attend the University of Southern California and received his B.S. degree in 1985. Fielder is now the President and owner of Fielder Financial Management, Ltd. a nationwide investment consulting firm located in the Burbank/Glendale area of Southern California.

It did not take long for him to return to the soccer fields, however, this time as a coach and certified referee instructor. Fielder has been coaching soccer for the last 13 years, the past five years with SSV Burbank Soccer Club, where is also serves as Director of Coaching.  He holds a CYSA license credential and is known for his intense workouts and no-nonsense approach to training and player accountability.

Over the years, Mark has touched many player's lives in the San Fernando & San Gabriel Valley.  Many of his former players are now playing among the highest youth levels in CSL and collegiately.

"I really love to coach.  It's my passion.  I have a great desire to help young players learn the game and improve not only as atheletes, but as quality people.

Long after these kids are done playing, I hope that the 'desire, heart and passion' that I teach and preach stays with them forever - whatever they end up pursuing in their lives.

If I can instill the values of hard work, dedication and loyalty during their training and playing years with me, I know that it will serve to reward them long thereafter. 

That's the greatest reward a coach who serves youth can hope for", Fielder states.
